Onex, Inc. is an industrial furnace service company that builds and maintains furnaces for all heat intensive industries. Onex began as a stocking distributor for regional foundries and has grown to provide high quality solutions to those who need outsource vendors. Our Blue Diamond Brand began in 1992, and we currently design and build custom furnaces for any known “areas of pain” such as space requirements, government specifications, and operational costs.

Job Summary:

Truck driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of products to our customers. Driver is tasked with driving and maintaining trucks, and work with shipping department to plan routes and track deliveries. A Commercial Class B (CDL) License is required. Shop laborer responsibilities include coordinating with shop supervisor to most efficiently complete job requirements and maintain on-time delivery. Successful candidates must have clean driving record and must pass a drug and alcohol test.

1. Responsibilities

A. Safety

  • Promote and engage in a safe work environment

B. Planning and Scheduling

  • Load and operate Onex trucks as necessary.
  • Communicates with construction foreman on job deliveries
  • Maintains cleanliness of trucks
  • Assist with maintenance schedule of the trucks
  • Efficiency in deliveries (i.e. multiple deliveries per trip)
  • Assist in shop during trucking downtime
  • Complete general work requirements as designated to meet forecasted production
  • Prepare job box from provided equipment lists and schedules equipment per job schedule
  • Carpentry skills; i.e. mold making and maintenance

C. Productivity

  • Completes deliveries in a timely manner with most efficient driving route
  • Works to overcome delivery challenges to keep the job on schedule
  • Reports any alterations in truck route to shop supervisor
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency
  • Ensures proper use of Electronic Logging Device (ELD)

D. Quality

  • Accurate and reliable with the quality of work results
  • Ensure job scope was completed based on material requirements
  • Proper loading of trucks including weight restrictions, proper tie downs and tarping
  • Ensures timely delivery with no damaged materials, tools, or equipment

E. Administration

  • Timecard review

  • Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients

Physical Requirements

  • Respirator Fit Testing

Qualifications

  • Has a valid Commercial Drivers Class B (CDL) Pennsylvania Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • OSHA 10-Hour Training
  • Forklift Certification

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, vibration, and high temperatures.
  • Loud noise levels in the work site.
