Onex, Inc. is an industrial furnace service company that builds and maintains furnaces for all heat intensive industries. Onex began as a stocking distributor for regional foundries and has grown to provide high quality solutions to those who need outsource vendors. Our Blue Diamond Brand began in 1992, and we currently design and build custom furnaces for any known “areas of pain” such as space requirements, government specifications, and operational costs.
Job Summary:
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing inventory and processing purchase orders while being cost
conscious.
1. Responsibilities
A. Safety
- Promote and engage in a safe work environment
- Report safety incidents
- Display good housekeeping in work areas
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and Onex safety policies
- Track and handle gas detector calibration and materials needed for bump testing
B. Administrative
- Facilitate Request for Quote(s) on materials and services
- Provide management with RFQ analyzation and recommendations
- Purchase Order Entry
- Track orders to ensure vendors comply with promised required dates (expediting)
- Implement and manage Blanket Purchase Orders to reduce repetitive non-value tasks
- Facilitate and manage Return Material Authorization tasks, tracking completion
- Coordinate new supplier setup through accounting to offer them various payment options, as well as
classification of suppliers for future spend analytics - Utilizing proper job or GL account numbers purchase orders in Viewpoint
- Reconcile Purchase Order errors to vendor invoices, coordinating with AP group as needed
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet and Technical Data Sheet requirements for pertinent items
- Correspond with suppliers
- Complete requested tasks from accounting for Assist with month end closing
- Process JC Cost Adjustments, JC Material Use, and Production Entries for parts as needed
- Conduct projects for improvement (lead time analysis for various materials; Inbound freight analysis)
- Use proper storage and naming of documents in the Azure cloud
C. Planning and Scheduling
- Establish and manage inventory to min/max requirements
- Coordinates and conduct physical inventory for all warehouses
- Accomplish timely resolution of physical inventory findings
- Notify salesmen of current inventory amounts each week with reports
- Track negative balance inventory in Viewpoint for resolution
D. Quality
- Provide excellent customer service using proper phone and email etiquette
- Communicate all necessary information to controller, salesmen, and vendors
- Be a proactive liaison between purchasing and salesmen for materials

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- 1-3 years of Procurement experience
- Certified Purchasing Manager preferred
